This Is The Key To Confidence

Key to confidence

What’s the key to confidence? Being confident is a tricky thing- people either have it or they don’t. So where in the world do they get it from?

It can be really difficult to find confidence when you don’t even know where to begin. Luckily, you have stumbled upon the key to confidence right here.

What is confidence, actually?

Confidence at its core is simply being secure with yourself and your abilities. This isn’t an arrogant feeling, but rather a self-assurance that encourages you to put yourself in new and exciting situations.

Confidence is important in your day-to-day life because of how it affects you. Lacking confidence in who you are or what you do can change a lot about your life in a negative way.

You may miss out on incredible new opportunities like joining a team or group, meeting new people, or trying out new interests. Confidence may carry you to more opportunities and experiences than you would think.

Research shows that people who lack confidence are more likely to be anxious, depressed, and chronically stressed. Now that you see how important it is, it’s time to figure out how you can reach the confidence you need.

The Key to Confidence

Up until this point, you might’ve assumed that confidence is just something that certain people are born with. You do what you can in your unconfident ways and wish you were as lucky as those chosen few. Turns out, it’s not something you’re born with- it’s something you choose.

Confidence is one of those “fake it ‘til you make it” kind of things. That makes it sound pretty easy to achieve… but it turns out it’s not. Deciding to be confident often isn’t one simple decision, but rather many small and large decisions over time.

How do you start?

It’s important to realize that every action comes from a thought or feeling, and every thought or feeling comes from a belief. Once you understand that your mind works this way, it becomes much easier to find the root of an issue and mend it.

Lacking confidence in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors means that you simply don’t believe that you’re enough. That’s the root–analyze it, understand it, and mend it.

The only way to get that confidence is to believe that you are enough. Enough for what? That’s where you get to decide. It’s your choice how you want to get to that point, but you have to start somewhere.

You make the rules in your own brain. Realizing your autonomy over your feelings is a freeing thing, but it takes work. You probably won’t become the most confident person in the world overnight, but you can surely try.

The Ingredients to Confidence

Intentionality

Intentionality is the first ingredient to discovering the key to confidenceEvery time that you make a decision that isn’t confident, address it. Ask yourself why you don’t feel like enough.

Make sure you understand that it is only a stumbling block, not a permanent piece of your personality. Be intentional about caring about how you see yourself. Don’t speak to yourself in a way that you wouldn’t speak to others.

Effort

Effort is arguably even more difficult, but this is where you start to see progress. As  you learn to be intentional, put the work in to prioritize this new journey of yours.

Put some elbow grease into loving yourself because you deserve it. Over time your mind will heal these practiced patterns of not believing you’re good enough.

Courage

Lastly, doing all of this takes a lot more courage than many people realize, so hats off to you! Work on pushing yourself little by little, step by step, until confidence becomes your second nature.
